Nicolas Terol ran away with the opening GP of 2011 and, despite finishing nearly eight seconds ahead of second place man Sandro Cortese, he was actually over 18 seconds ahead at one point.
The real battle was for second with no less than five riders chasing until Hector Faubel seemed to miss a gear at the end of the straight and ran straight on dropping him into the following, following pack.
Cortese, Gadea, Vazquez and Folger all bumped, jostled and jousted their way round the floodlight Qatar course but managed to cross the line safely.
For the Brits it was a different story with Danny Kent in 13th place being the highest placed of the four that finished.
Danny Webb ended the race in 16th place, five places ahead of his team mate, but more is to come from the young rider as he gets to grips with a new bike and new team.
Taylor Mackenzie finished in 18th place, four places behind his team Simone Grotzkyj and eight places ahead of Giulan Pedone.
Harry Stafford fought a hard race to cross the line in his first GP race in 25th, he was battling a hand injury after he broke a bone earlier in the weekend.
Team Paris Hilton will be happy with a third and ninth place as will Ajo Motorsport in fourth and sixth.
This is the second time Terol has won the Qatar GP so whether it means anything for the season remains to be seen.
