Rumours about a Ducati and Piaggio Merger

Rumours are circulating about a possible merger of Ducati and the Piaggio Group coming out of Italy at the moment.
It’s thought McKinsey & Company, a leading global management consultancy, has been asked to evaluate any potential merger options for Piaggio, with Ducati leading the way.
The current thinking is still at a very early stage but with the Piaggio Group containing the likes of Aprilia and Moto Guzzi amongst others, the feeling is the new company could take on the large Japanese motorcycle manufacturers.
The Piaggio Group have so far denied any merger, talks or otherwise, are taking place.
