Tom Luthi Special Edition BMW Motorrad R 1200 GS ABS
The Swiss-Moto show 2012 will open its doors in Zurich on February 16th at 10am. For bikers, this show is a harbinger of spring and it allows visitors to prepare for the launch of the 2012 season. Again this year, in addition to many firsts, visitors can also admire many innovations in the sectors of clothing and accessories.
With the C 600 Sport ABS, the ABS WG C 650, G 650 GS ABS Sertão and the Tom Lüthi R 1200 GS ABS, BMW Motorrad is organising a host of four stroke firsts for Switzerland at the show. The S 1000 RR ABS / DTC, the new F 800 R ABS, the ABS R 1200 GS Rally, the K 1300 S ABS pack with HP and the special model of the K 1300 R ABS complement this range of new products.
BMW Motorrad will also be showing elements from the new range of BMW Motorrad Rider Equipment.
Members of the “ASR RR Power BMW Racing Team” will be on the main stand with a BMW S 1000 RR ABS / DTC optimised for racing and answer questions on the sporting commitment of BMW Motorrad in the Swiss championship Superstock 1000. In addition, the BMW brand ambassador, Tom Lüthi, will come on the stand to sign autographs for an hour.
As part of two outdoor stalls, BMW Motorrad has, on one side, the complete GS Triple Black family and on the other it presents with BMW Automobil a selection from the BMW Group on the theme of urban mobility. As part of the exhibition on electric motorcycles “New Ride” in Hall 07, BMW Motorrad will also show, on a stand, their vision of an electric scooter, the prototype Concept e.
BMW R 1200 GS ABS Tom Lüthi (Limited Edition)
Another highlight of the show, will see a special model, exclusive to Switzerland and limited to 100 copies, the R 1200 GS ABS Tom Lüthi.
With the name “Tom Lüthi,” BMW Motorrad wanted to show respect to the best Swiss motorcycle rider of his time with his special style.
All paint and bodywork, including forks, engine and deck luggage remain in full black on the R 1200 GS ABS Tom Lüthi. The colour accents are made by the three legendary bands in the colours of BMW Motorrad Motorsport on the front cover of the tank by a tinted windshield and brake callipers in the Monte Carlo colours Blau. GS matte silver logo on the rear fender and the monogram GS Power on the side, along the front fender, refer to the concept of the special model. The edition is marked, with a Tom Lüthi logo on the front fender and his signature is engraved on the lid of the fuel cap. In addition, the lid of the fuel cap features a serial number to remember that this is a special edition model limited to 100.
