A Dream Come True For Harley-Davidson Competition Winner
Monday, July 19th, 2010Lucky Guildford resident Trevor Holden fulfilled a lifelong dream to own a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle after winning a nationwide competition for a Fat Boy® Special. Trevor’s name was selected at random in a free prize draw run by the UK subsidiary of the legendary motorcycle manufacturer.
The Guildford motorcyclist came across the competition on www.harley-davidson.co.uk after a drive past his local dealership inspired him to visit the website. While browsing for information, he discovered the new online booking system for free test rides at Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland dealerships and organised a test ride aboard a new Electra Glide® Ultra Limited.
It was a case of perfect timing, as to promote the launch of its 24/7 online booking system, Harley-Davidson was running a free prize draw for any rider booking and fulfilling a test ride between 3 April – 9 May. Having completed the Electra Glide® Ultra Limited demo, Trevor had further fuelled his desire to own one of the legendary motorcycles. Having forgotten about the free prize draw, a surprise call from Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland’s Marketing Manager, Jessica Tideswell, delivered the exciting news that he could fulfil his dream for free.
“I can hardly believe that my dreams have been realised and I am now a proud owner of a Harley®,” said Trevor. “It has always been a dream of mine to ride a Harley-Davidson since I was a young motorcycle mechanic back in 1976. I would like to thank Harley-Davidson UK for realising my lifelong ambition of becoming a dedicated owner – I never thought I would see the day. The bike and sound is amazing and the staff at Guildford Harley-Davidson have been fantastic in organising the collection of my new bike.”
“We are delighted to have fulfilled Mr Holden’s dream and are pleased to welcome him as one of our newest Harley-Davidson customers,” said Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland Marketing Manager Jessica Tideswell. “The demo ride campaign was a successful continuation of a pilot that was pioneered in the UK last year designed to make organising a test ride easy and accessible for both current and potential customers. The competition marked the roll out of this facility now being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Our UK and Ireland dealer network fulfilled over 2,500 test rides during the one-month competition period and attracted a wide range of motorcyclists into their showrooms. We hope that the free test rides will continue to encourage riders to challenge any preconceptions they may have of the Harley-Davidson brand and illustrate the breadth and affordability of our current range of motorcycles.

Nice win, Trevor! Congrats!
